Rye American Legion Post Commander Fred de Barros recently presented a check for $1,000 to Rye Boy Scouts Troop 2. Kelli Jancksi of the Rye Troop 2 Committee said, ” Thank you again so much for attending the troop meeting tonight for your generous donation and for participating in the ceremony at the fire pit. We value our relationship with you and with the Legion post.
Rye Post Commander de Barros says,” Donations to our Rye community align to the foundational pillars of the American Legion. We are a very fortunate Post to be able to support our community and fellow veterans alike.”
Nearly all these funds were generated through Rye Post 128 Legionnaire Terry McCartney’s Memorial Day golf fund raiser. Terry says,” I organize a golf fundraiser each year on Memorial Day at Rye Golf Club. We are proud the Post is using the funds for veterans and the Rye community.”
