Rye American Legion Post Commander Fred de Barros and Finance Officer Tim Moynihan recently presented a check for $2,000 for Rye Recreation League basketball uniforms to Erin Mantz, Superintendent of Rye Recreation. Ms. Mantz says, “Rye Recreation is thankful for the continuing support of Rye American Legion Post 128. Contributions such as this enhance our ability to supplement the cost of reversible jerseys for more than 150 boys and girls in our basketball programs.”
Rye Post Commander de Barros says,” Donations to our Rye community align to the foundational pillars of the American Legion. We are a very fortunate Post to be able to support our community and fellow veterans alike.”
Funds were generated through Rye Post 128 Legionnaire Terry McCartney’s Memorial Day golf fund raiser. Terry says,” I organize a golf fundraiser each year on Memorial Day at Rye Golf Club. We are proud the Post is using the funds for veterans and the Rye community.”
