On January 13, 2026, Tim Moynihan, Finance Officer and Adjutant of Rye American Legion Post 128, represented the Post in presenting a donation of $15,000 to benefit veterans at the Hudson Valley Montrose VA facility. The funds are designated to support veterans’ activities, supplemental food and clothing, recreation, and a range of life-enhancing programs.
Rye Post Commander de Barros says, ” Donations to the veterans hospital align to the foundational pillars of the American Legion. We are a very fortunate Post to be able to support hospitalized veterans and our local community alike.”
Funds were generated through Rye Post 128 Legionnaire Terry McCartney’s Memorial Day golf fund raiser. Terry says,” I organize a golf fundraiser each year on Memorial Day at Rye Golf Club. We are proud the Post is using the funds for veterans and the Rye community.”
